Research for the Development of Biotechnological Additives

Practice-oriented research is a core mission of our company.

Through project collaborations with external research institutions and universities, as well as our own internal research activities, we continuously expand our knowledge base in enzyme analytics and anaerobic fermentation.

This includes consistent and efficient data management, along with innovative, software-supported data analysis—essential foundations for advancing and improving existing processes.

Ongoing, inspiring exchange within scientific networks enables us to identify current challenges early and respond not only reactively, but with openness to alternative solutions.

Creativity, openness, and practical relevance define our research team!

Biotechnological Additives
for Process Optimization in Agriculture

In our biogas research laboratory, we developed the first enzymatic additive concept that significantly improves efficiency when using increased amounts of livestock manure.

This work led to the patented UltraPract product series.

In collaboration with the renowned Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy, we addressed the issue of viscosity in biogas plants caused by increased use of grass and whole crop silage.

Based on thorough laboratory screening, two fast-acting enzyme products were developed to reduce viscosity.

These highly active formulations are successfully marketed under the ViscoPract product line.

We also tackled the challenging issue of floating layer formation due to the increased use of highly fibrous substrates and straw-based bedding.

The innovative combination product developed during this project is now available under the name UltraSweep.

In addition, we are working on innovative methods to optimize various process steps in biogas production.

Our goals include improving the separation characteristics of digestate, shifting nutrients between solid and liquid digestate fractions, and enhancing the degradability of difficult-to-digest substrates such as straw.

Biotechnological Additives
for Process Optimization in Other Industries

In current research activities focused on wastewater treatment, we are developing specialized enzyme combinations that not only significantly increase biogas yield from sewage sludge, but also improve the separation and dewatering of residual sludge.

This reduces the volume of sludge, lowers operational disposal costs, and contributes positively to climate protection.

We are also exploring the use of enzyme-based additives for the mechanical-enzymatic pretreatment of organic waste.
