Research –
application-oriented and targeted

Research into the development of biotechnological additives

Practice-oriented research is a core task of our company.
We are constantly expanding our knowledge base in enzyme analysis and anaerobic fermentation through project collaborations with external research institutions and universities, as well as through our own research activities.
This includes consistent and efficient data management as well as innovative, software-supported data analysis as essential prerequisites for the further development and improvement of existing processes.
The ongoing, inspiring exchange in scientific networks allows us to recognize the challenges of the present in good time and not only to react to them, but also to remain open to alternative solutions.

Creativity, openness and practical relevance characterize our research team!

Biotechnological additives
for process optimization in agriculture

In our biogas research laboratory, we succeeded in developing the first enzymatic additive concept that makes a significant contribution to increasing efficiency with increased use of farm manure.
The result of this work led to the patented UltraPract product series. Together with the renowned Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy e.V., we addressed the issue of viscosity in biogas plants as a result of the increased use of grass and cereal whole plant silage. Based on careful laboratory screening, two fast-acting, viscosity-reducing enzyme products were developed. The highly active formulations are successfully marketed as the ViscoPract product series.

We were also able to successfully address the challenging problem of floating layer formation due to the increased use of very fiber-rich substrates and straw-containing bedding as part of a research project.
The innovative combination preparation developed in the project has since been available under the name UltraSweep.

We are also working on innovative methods to optimize various process steps during biogas production.
Our aims here are to improve the separation properties of fermentation products, to shift nutrients between solid and liquid fermentation product fractions and also to improve the degradability of substrates that are difficult to ferment, such as straw.

Biotechnological additives
for process optimization in other industries

In current research activities in the field of wastewater treatment, our focus is on specialized enzyme combinations that not only significantly increase the biogas yield from sewage sludge, but also optimize the separation and dewaterability of residual sludge.
This reduces the amount of sludge produced, lowers operational disposal costs and makes a positive contribution to climate protection.

We are also testing the use of enzyme-based additives for the mechanical-enzymatic pre-treatment of biowaste.
The aim is to accelerate the decomposition of organic materials, thereby improving the material utilization of biowaste and biogas production.
The combination of mechanical and enzymatic processes maximizes the efficiency of waste disposal and thus reduces the burden on the environment.
