The use of enzymes to increase the yield of biogas plants continues to be a hot topic in the industry.
\nAn article on the current status has now been published in the trade magazine “Energy from Plants” (issue 4\/2017).
\nThe starting point is a product screening with 1st generation enzymes, which was carried out by the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture.
\nIt became clear that not every enzyme preparation available on the market is suitable for operating biogas plants more efficiently and therefore more economically.
\nTo a surprising extent, products are offered that only have very low enzyme activities or unsuitable enzyme activity profiles. <\/p>\n
Against this background, the NRW Chamber of Agriculture, in cooperation with the company Biopract GmbH, carried out a practical trial on the effectiveness of the completely newly developed product UltraPract P2.
\nThis is a 2nd generation preparation with a completely newly developed enzyme combination.
\nUltraPract P2 has been optimized with regard to the increasing use of farm manure, so that more liquid manure and dung and fewer energy crops can be used for gas production.
\nThe technical article briefly presents the practical study on a one-megawatt biogas plant and draws a positive conclusion.
\nAt the end of the article, the author underpins the economic viability with real figures.
