Simulating anaerobic fermentation in the rumen environment

Hohenheim Gas Test HFT

Biopract has significantly advanced this long-established in-vitro method. In addition to measuring gas volume, we also determine gas composition and the acid spectrum in rumen fluid using chromatography.

The enhanced HFT is an efficient and meaningful screening tool for studying the effects of various substances on metabolic processes in the rumen.

Reproducibility and reliability of results are ensured through consistent housing and feeding conditions for donor animals, as well as standardized laboratory methods.

Reliable, reproducible, and insightful!

Quantifying phytic acid in feed and food raw materials

Phytic Acid Determination

Our detection method allows for the determination of phytic acid content in various feed or food raw materials.

Since phytic acid levels and bioavailability in feed vary depending on feed composition and agricultural factors such as soil quality, climate conditions, and pest stress, this method is highly relevant for food processing, animal feed formulation, and plant breeding.

Flexible fermentation testing in various scales

Anaerobic Fermentation – Batch and Continuous

We conduct anaerobic fermentations in our biogas lab at different scales.

Our miniaturized batch biogas system plays a key role in generating statistically robust results. Depending on the research question, larger and continuous systems are also used.

We support you from the planning stage, make necessary system adjustments, and provide analytical support throughout your trials.
